I studied medicine at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel and subsequently completed my residency at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein in Luebeck, one of the long-standing treatment centers for ear deformities. In the 1990s, reconstruction of the ear from autologous rib cartilage was established here in Germany. I worked there as a consultant until 2017. In 2013 I was promoted to an assistant professor for research about active middle ear implants in deformed middle ears. Since 2018, I am a partner in the ENT Center L\u00fcbeck, a large private practice with a major surgical focus.<\/p>\n<p>The main focus of my work is aesthetic or plastic-reconstructive facial surgery and middle ear surgery. My training enables me to perform plastic ear reconstruction at the highest level. This depends on the procedure to be performed. Its emblems are famous: its well-known marzipan or the famous town silhouette with its seven towers. Or even the Holsten Gate, which appears on the German two euro coin. In 1987 L\u00fcbeck old town, which is unique with around 1,800 listed buildings, winding passageways and historic alleys, was declared a UNESCO world heritage site. The town looks back over its eventful history as a Hanseatic City in the Middle Ages until the present day.<\/p>\n<p>Situated only approximately 10 kilometres from the centre we find Travem\u00fcnde, L\u00fcbeck\u2019s seafront promenade and beach on the Baltic Sea. It\u2019s a splendid place to refresh tired feet with a dip in the water.
